James has 20+ years’ Marketing Executive leadership and global marketing experience. He currently holds the title of Chief Marketing Officer of Electro-Scientific Industries.  ESI’s integrated solutions allow industrial designers and process engineers to control the power of laser light to transform materials in ways that differentiate their consumer electronics, wearable devices, semiconductor circuits and high-precision components for market advantage. 

Prior to ESI, James was CMO of OpenText, the preeminent Enterprise Content Management company. Prior to OpenText, he led the B2B Marketing Strategy team for digital relationship marketing at McCann Relationship Marketing.

While at McCann, He was responsible for Microsoft’s global B2B audience insights and marketing strategy, planning, targeting, analytics, and integrated marketing.

Prior to McCann, James was vice president of marketing and marketing strategy for several large and growth-oriented software companies including a stint at IBM Large Systems Marketing in New York City, and 5 years at Lotus Development.

James is an avid soccer player and an amateur musician on the contra-bass.
